A Message from Mark
Santa Clara is more than a place—it’s a legacy. It was built by pioneers with grit, vision, and an unshakable belief in community. That spirit still lives in our neighborhoods, our traditions, and our families. I’ve spent my life here—raising two daughters, serving in our community, and now watching my grandchildren grow up with the same deep roots that stretch back to the founding of this city.
I’m running for City Council because I believe in protecting what makes Santa Clara special—but I also believe in preparing for the future. Our city is growing, and with that growth comes responsibility: to plan wisely, to invest in our core infrastructure, and to make sure our values are reflected in the way we build, connect, and live together.
I’m not here to make noise. I’m here to do the work.
That means making sure our streets, sidewalks, and parks meet the needs of every generation—from toddlers in strollers to grandparents in wheelchairs. It means thoughtful development that honors our heritage without turning away opportunities that can strengthen our community. It means working with—not against—those who care deeply about this city, even when we don’t always agree.
Some believe the best way to protect Santa Clara is to freeze it in time. I don’t. I believe the best way to honor our past is to shape a future that our children and grandchildren will be proud to call home.
This city doesn’t need more noise. It needs leadership that listens, plans, and gets to work. That’s the kind of leader I’ve always been—and that’s the kind of councilmember I’ll be.
Let’s preserve what matters. Let’s plan for what’s next.
Let’s do it together.
